Why do we have conflicts between family members, communities and nations?  The answer is rather simple; we really don’t know each other, and whatever we know about the other is unverified incomplete information.

What is the solution?  Let’s take the time to learn about each other, and learn to respect the otherness of others and accept the God given uniqueness of each one of us, then conflicts fade and solutions emerge.

At AMI we recognize that our media and policy makers do not have a full picture about us, so we are committed to providing them the right information and hope the ill-will or propaganda will recede by a few notches.

COMING UP

1.    Monthly workshop on understanding the essence of Religions
2.    Quarterly Muslim Speaker’s training.
3.    Media Training.

We believe our media and policy makers don’t have a full picture about us, and it is our duty to complete that picture for them, so together we can build on the idea of one nation that is safe and secure.
What do we do at AMI?

God has created everything in balance and everything functions cohesively. However,  because of our free will, we may do things that will mess up the cohesiveness of the society, and are equally responsible to restore harmony, and that is what we do at AMI.

Chief Seattle, the Native American said this perfectly, “All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the webs, he does it to himself.”

God says (Quran 49:13) that he has created us (all of us) from a single couple, and that makes us all one big universal family.  In another verse he says, if he had willed, he would have created all of us exactly alike, but instead he chose to create all of us to be unique beings, each one with his or her own thumbprint, eye print, DNA and taste buds.

Then he says the best ones among you are those who take the time to learn about each other, and when we do that, conflicts fade and solutions emerge. That is indeed Islam.

At AMI we recognize that our media and policy makers do not have a full picture about us, so we are committed to providing them the right information and hope the ill-will or propaganda will recede by a few notches. While doing that, we have to strengthen our relations with fellow beings who subscribe to different faiths and are from different places, races and ethnicities. We have to stand up for each other. At the end, we have to reflect within ourselves as Muslims and build the intra-faith relations to serve common humanity. We have to create a world where no one has to live in apprehension or fear of the other.
