About us

The American Muslim institution (AMI) was created in 2015 to focus on issues affecting American Muslims. We are a proactive voice for American Muslims, and our actions, writings and talks are geared to achieve the ultimate goal:   where fellow “Americans will see Muslims as their neighbors and fellow citizens, committed to fighting against violent extremism and protecting the homeland.” Our vision is: “One America in which all religious and ethnic communities contribute to her success while living in peace and harmony, free from prejudice and discrimination.”

Our Location

Our office is located at 110 Maryland Av, NE next to the U.S. Supreme Court Building and across from the U.S. Capitol Building.

Our needs

AMI is looking for two interns who are willing to learn and experience working with the media, policy makers, interfaith faith community and with fellow Muslims.  Individuals selected will be expected to conduct research and analysis, prepare press releases and reports, and develop data base.  The stipend will be $1000 per month to help cover their cost of commuting, meals and pocket expenses.
