Washington, D.C., November 9, 2016 – The American Muslim Institution congratulates President Elect Mr. Donald Trump upon winning the highly contested presidential elections.
Honoring the great American tradition of welcoming the new President, we offer our support to Mr. Trump in taking the nation forward with liberty and justice for every American.
We wholeheartedly support President-Elect Trump’s statement, “It is a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds, and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people — and serve the people it will.” We also welcome his hopeful message made his speech this morning: “We will embark upon a project of national growth and renewal. I will harness the creative talents of our people, and we will call upon the best and brightest to leverage their tremendous talent for the benefit of all. It is going to happen.”
AMI is committed to be a proactive voice for American Muslims, and our actions, writings and talks are geared to achieve the ultimate goal, where “Americans will see Muslims as their neighbors and fellow citizens, committed to fighting against violent extremism and protecting the homeland.”
